Position Title: Full-Time Faculty -- Mathematics 10 month Academic Contract begins August 9, 2010 Position Description: Faculty position reporting to the Associate Dean of General Studies and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Responsible for: instruction in overall mathematics with courses such as Basic Math, Basic Algebra, College Algebra, Introduction to Statistics, etc. Minimum Requirements: Position requires that the successful candidate possess a PhD in mathematics or mathematics education, although ABD candidates near completion of the dissertation will be considered; successful teaching experience at the collegiate level; demonstrated in-depth knowledge of mathematics, especially developmental mathematics; evidence of scholarly achievement and leadership; and effective communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate can be expected to teach evenings, to use appropriate technology in teaching and to develop and deliver online courses. Preferred Qualifications: In addition to minimum requirements: preference will be given to those with experience in teaching developmental mathematics. Position Title: Adjunct Faculty - Mathematics Academic Year 2010-2011 Position Description: Adjunct Faculty qualified to teach Basic Math, Basic Algebra and/or Mathematical Formulas, Models and Probability (e.g., MTH 098, MTH 100 and MTH 104) Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in mathematics or mathematics education with experience in teaching in specific discipline required. Preferred Requirements: PhD degree with higher education teaching experience and familiarity with distance learning a plus. Review of applications will be ongoing until the position is filled.
